Hello there everyone! My name is Jim Sejas, and I am a dad on the weekend. My particular case involves CSS, my ex-wife and a rapidly approaching court date. I figure the best way to express truth is to write it out. I know there are many other dads out there in the same situation. I would like to say that regardless of your situation my intention is to gain an alliance with fathers and sons. There was a time when on most weekends, my dad would show me various things about tools and car engines and general guy stuff. I am a practical hands-on type of guy that knows basic guy stuff but, not enough to teach. I want to learn how to teach my son these things and I know I am not alone.
I want to teach my son to hold open doors for women, which is a lost art form. Common courtesy, basic manners, and how to carry themselves. Perhaps to even be considered a gentleman. I want our sons to be little gentlemen and have respect for all things. I don’t want them to be influenced by mainstream media; fed what to buy, what to wear, what to eat and what to think.
Our country is going through a tough time and the economy is in trouble. But, a father’s obligation to their son is not only child support. Perhaps a father’s most important role is to set the example of how to become a man. Are we forgetting the simple things in life are just as free as the best things?
I am willing to do some of the research for all of us but I am only one. If we are to succeed in life we cannot be alone in our quest. This is why I need your help and support. Not in the form of money or anything tangible but, in the form of teamwork and accountability. As father’s we need to be accountable for the little men that we raise. This site is not only intended for part time dads, but for any father and son team. I hope you all will feel free to share your experiences and to offer any and all advice that will help further our common goal.
